and, samba can share files on linux with windows. the server is called smbd.
below's an example.
evil@thickserver:~$ smbclient //localhost/tmp
added interface ip=192.168.0.1 bcast=192.168.0.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
Password:
Domain=[WORKGROUP] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 2.0.7]
smb: \> ls *.xwd
proc.xwd 524127 Sat Oct 14 00:52:21 2000
61766 blocks of size 131072. 2894 blocks available
