我覺得我的問題在第4步，當我選擇set-gbk時，kde就出錯。 :(
當把LC_ALL設成 zh_CN.GBK，kde2幾乎就死掉了，幾乎不動了。
還有debian現在好像還沒有GBK字體。也許我弄錯了，這個有影響嗎？

下面是我給一個向我問怎樣在 KDE 2 下用中文的解答, 請作參考.
另外, 現在的 CVS tree 中的 charset 應該已經是 GBK, 所以
第 3 步可能不需要作了. 這個方法在 beta2 的時候應該是有效
的.
還有, 我自己從來沒有試過上述方法, 因為我沒有花過時間來
自己弄好中文, 有時間就在翻譯 :-( , cxterm 足矣

In KDE 2.0, Simplified Chinese is supported. The encoding is GBK.
So you need to:
1. Get a copy of GBK fonts( from turbolinux site)
2. Get a copy of GBK locales( from turbolinux site)
3. Maybe you need to modify /opt/kde2/share/locale/zh_CN.GB2312/charset,
change it from "gb2312" to "GBK"
4. KDE 2.0 beta language settings(personal setting->country):
Country: China(cn)
Language: Simplified Chinese (zh_CN.GB2312)
Charset: set-gbk
5. environments before run KDE
export KDEDIR=/opt/kde2
export QTDIR=/path/to/the/directory/of/qt-2.1.1
export LC_ALL=zh_CN.GBK
export LANG=zh_CN.GBK
export KDE_LANG=zh_CN.GBK
