    inform the user of this change. (#28410)

cvs-buildpackage - Debian package scripts for CVS source trees.

cvs-buildpackage (2.12) unstable; urgency=low
  * Fixed documentation rules about how the debian revision tag is
    generated. closes: BUG#28451
  * Mentioned in cvs-upgrade how to upgrade a working CVS directory using
    cvs update.
  * Ran a spell check on the HOWTO and README. closes: BUG#28452
  * Fixed a typo in cvs-inject.1, it should be upstream_version_, not
    upstream_versions_. closes: BUG#28459
  * Documented conf_prefix in cvsdeb.conf.5. closes: BUG#28460
  * Fixed a typo in cvs-upgrade that confused it while upgrading a
    Debian-only package. The apparent unquoted arguments to -m are a
    display artifact, as the report noted, the command does the right
    thing anyway. I do not think it is worth the effort required in fixing
    the anomaly, but I shall do so if there is sufficient demand.
    closes: BUG#28461
  * Fixed more typos in cvsdeb.conf.5. Mentioned ~/.cvsdeb.conf there as
    well. Escaped the ~ in cvs-buildpackage.conf.1 closes: BUG#28536

    changing dirs. I can't reportduce problems people seem to be having.

dbuild - Tool for building Debian binary packages from Debian sources
dbuild 1.10 -> 1.11 into dists/slink/main/binary-all/devel
dbuild (1.11) unstable; urgency=low
  * dbuild.1: Added run-dbuild documentation.
  * Move *.nondebbin.tar.gz also to OK, if they are built. Fixes bug #24892.
  * Log files for packages in the wrong architecture are stored in
    WRONGARCH, not FAILED.

debhelper - helper programs for debian/rules
debhelper 1.1.23 -> 1.1.24 into dists/slink/main/binary-all/devel
debhelper (1.1.24) unstable; urgency=low
  * dh_suidregister: remove suid/sgid bits from all files registered. The
    reason is this: if you're using suidmanager, and you want a file that
    ships suid to never be suid on your system, shipping it suid in the .deb
    will create a window where it is suid before suidmanager fixes it's
    permissions. This change should be transparent to users and developers.

debian-policy - Debian Policy Manual and related documents
debian-policy 2.4.1.4 -> 2.5.0.0 into dists/slink/main/binary-all/doc
debian-policy (2.5.0.0) unstable; urgency=low
  * AMENDMENT: Added in changes in Bug #25911, which rearranged sections
    to create a new section 4, namely, files. Section 3.3 ("Files") should
    become Section 4. The Sections that are currently Section 4 and
    Section 5 should be moved down to become Section 5 and Section 6
    accordingly.
    What is now Section 5.5 ("Log files") should be moved to be a
    subsection of the new Section 4 ("Files"), becoming section 4.8,
    placing it after "Configuration files", moving the would-be Section
    4.8 ("Permissions and owners") to Section 4.9. All subsections of the
    current Section 5 after 5.5 should be accordingly moved down to fill
    in the number gap.
    This, along with the next amendment, justifies bumping up the version
    number. closes: BUG#25911
  * AMENDMENT: Added in changes in Bug #21185, about the naming and
    compression of changelog files. Now, if the upstream changelog file is
    HTML formatted, it should be accessible as
    /usr/doc/<package>/changelog.html.gz It also allows for this to be a
    symlink, if the upstream file name does not conform to Debian
    conventions. closes: BUG#21185
  * AMENDMENT: Added in changes in Bug #7890, to make clear that the HTML
    documents should be supplied in _some_ package, not necessarily in the
    main binary package (at the discretion of the maintainer).
    closes: BUG#7890
  * AMENDMENT: Added in changes in Bug #26461, which corrects the policy
    to refer to /usr/doc/<package>/copyright, rather than
    /usr/doc/copyright/<package>. closes: BUG#26461
  * AMENDMENT: Added in changes in Bug #25385, which allow the
    architecture specification strings to be of the form <arch>-<os>,
    where os is one of linux, gnu. Previously, only linux was allowed, now
    we also cater to the hurd. closes: BUG#25385
  * The responsibility of the contents of this package has now passed to
    the debian-policy mailing list. The packaging details are now being
    managed by a group of maintainers that do ot won the contents.
  * Make the package optional, not extra.
  * Re did the SGML markup. Normalized the document, and undid the omitted
    and shor tags. Personally, I use too many DTD's in real life to be so
    converssant with each one to be clever with tag omissions, and, since
    I have a smart editor, omitting tags does not byuy one much. In the
    process, I discovered a few errors in the markup (one of my
    predecessors hasd the unfortunate habit of treating <p> as a "create
    some space here" tag, and more often than not put it at the end of a
    paragraph, rather than using is as a container element (which is what
    it is, really).
  * Re did the control files, making them more robust
  * re did the rules file, making it more general, and easier to maintain
    by putting in a layer of abstractions.

dftp - Alternative Debian package manager
dftp 4.4-1 -> 4.5-1 into dists/slink/main/binary-all/admin

gimp-nonfree - GIF and TIFF support for the GNU Image Manipulation Program
libgimp-dev - Header files for compiling plugins for The GIMP
libgimp1 - Libraries necessary to run the GIMP
gimp-nonfree 1.0.0-1 -> 1.0.2-2 into dists/slink/non-free/binary-powerpc/graphics
gimp 1.0.0-1 -> 1.0.2-2 into dists/slink/main/binary-powerpc/graphics
libgimp-dev 1.0.0-1 -> 1.0.2-2 into dists/slink/main/binary-powerpc/devel
libgimp1 1.0.0-1 -> 1.0.2-2 into dists/slink/main/binary-powerpc/libs
gimp (1.0.2-2) frozen unstable; urgency=low
  * The gimp package no longer depends explicitly on xfnt{75,100}. I
    downgraded the relationship to a Recommends: and added big fat
    warnings in the README and in the package description.
    Fixes bugs #14600 and #21055. This has been changed because it's
    possible to run GIMP using a remote font server to serve the 75/100dpi
    fonts. However, it's really no big deal to ask for them to be installed
    locally, so the relationship should be Recommends:.
  * The above Recommends: has been changed to xfonts-{75,100}dpi, although
    it's pretty silly that their names were changed without adding a
    Provides:. *grumble*
  * Bumped the version number in the dependancy of gimp on gimp-data-extras
    to (>= 1:1.0.0).
  * libgimp-dev now conflicts with libglib-dev, so people don't try
    compiling plugins when they only have GTK+ 1.1 installed.

grepmail - search mailboxes for mail matching an expression
grepmail 3.3-1 -> 3.4-1 into dists/slink/main/binary-all/mail

grepmail - search mailboxes for mail matching an expression

ical 2.2-1 -> 2.2-2 into dists/slink/main/binary-powerpc/misc

libimage-size-perl 2.7-1 -> 2.7-2 into dists/slink/main/binary-all/interpreters
image-size (2.7-2) unstable; urgency=low
  * Whoops, there were some extra files lying around the package, and
    I was building it in the binary-arch instead of the binary-indep
    target of debian/rules. Fixed.

ipip - IP over IP Encapsulation Daemon
ipip 1.0-1 -> 1.1.0 into dists/potato/main/binary-powerpc/net
ipip (1.1.0) unstable; urgency=low
  * as the "upstream maintainer", I'm choosing to eliminate the illusion of an
    upstream release, and am packaging this as a "made for Debian" package.
    It is, of course, still completely reasonable for the source to be
    unpacked and built on non-Debian, and even non-Linux systems.
  * integrating changes from Ron Luse KD9KX
    - HUP signal is now honored more than once
    - routes now matches on a most-specific basis, not first-match basis,
      so config file route order is no longer important
    - fixed ugly death when ip_send got host unreachable errors
  * add an init.d script to launch the daemon

iselect - An interactive line selection tool for ASCII files
iselect 1.1.0-1 -> 1.1.0-2 into dists/potato/main/binary-powerpc/utils
iselect (1.1.0-2) frozen unstable; urgency=low
  * [debian/control]: Changed the short package description from

    trailing space problem from the rules file that affected the ppc
    folks. closes: Bug#28535

lftp (1.1.981023-1) unstable; urgency=low
  * Built with new libreadline so it doesn't depend on older ncurses.
  * New upstream release.

libproplist0 - PropList closely mimics the property lists found in *Step.
libproplist0-dev - C headers, static libraries and documentation for libPropList
libproplist0-dev 0.8.1-2 -> 0.8.1-3 into dists/potato/main/binary-powerpc/devel
libproplist0 0.8.1-2 -> 0.8.1-3 into dists/potato/main/binary-powerpc/libs
libproplist (0.8.1-3) frozen unstable; urgency=low
  * Patch from Window Maker's tarball. Fixes bug with final newline.

libtricks - Tricks with shared libs: transparent VPATH and Fake root priv.
libtricks 0.1-8 -> 0.1-9 into dists/slink/main/binary-powerpc/utils
libtricks (0.1-9) frozen; urgency=low
  * Somewhat improved the README file (corrected errors, and is now
    slightly less unclear).
  * Fixed handling of fake/non-fake uid/gid's. (in -8 it was the wrong way
    around, the ID's were not fake in fakeroot, while they were
    fake(=root/0) in normal libtricks code).
  * the `check' function in VPATH wasn't even recognised. Fixed.
  * Removed the line in the description saying that libtricks probably
    doesn't work. It seems to work reasonably OK now.

lintian    - Debian package checker
lintian 0.9.2 -> 0.9.3 into dists/slink/main/binary-all/devel
lintian (0.9.3) unstable; urgency=low
  * (checks/binaries) Warn if a package with ELF binaries does not have
    a Depends line. New tag: missing-depends-line.
    (Suggested by Charles Briscoe-Smith)
  * (checks/menus) Don't warn about /usr/lib/menu/README.
    (Noted by joost witteveen)
  * (checks/binaries.desc, checks/binaries, checks/shared-libs.desc)
    Renamed "shlib-without-dependency-information" to
    "shared-lib-without-dependency-information", to avoid confusion with
    the shlibs control file. (Suggested by Branden Robinson)
    Also moved the tag info from shared-libs.desc to binaries.desc, where
    it belongs.
  * (checks/shared-libs)
    Suppress "shlib-with-executable-bit" error if a library has an
    INTERP header. This catches the libraries (such as libc or libm)
    that print a little banner when executed.
  * (checks/fields)
    Report maintainer addresses that have no dots in the domain part.
    (Suggestion by James Troup)
  * Teach fields check about non-us.
  * (info/perl-modules)  Updated modules info.
  * (lib/deplib.pl) Fixed handling of versioned dependencies.
  * (checks/files.desc)  In executable-in-usr-doc tag, suggest examples
