New Debian i386 Packages

These i386 packages were installed into the Debian hierarchy in the
last week:

----- !!! HIGH URGENCY PACKAGES !!! -----

bind - An Internet domain name server.
bind 4.9.6-1 -> 4.9.7-2 into bo/binary-i386/net
bind (4.9.7-2) stable; urgency=HIGH
  * Applied patch from Mark Andrews to fix problem where bind followed
    symlinks in /var/tmp. The patch makes bind use directories specified
    in named.{boot,conf} for temporaries and debug dumps.

boot-floppies - Scripts to create the Debian installation floppy set.
boot-floppies 2.0.4 -> 2.0.5 into dists/hamm/main/binary-all/admin
boot-floppies 2.0.4 -> 2.0.5 into dists/slink/main/binary-all/admin
boot-floppies (2.0.5) frozen unstable; urgency=high
  * base system: added pppconfig and pkgsel
  * base system: the shipped "availables" file only contains information
    about the currently installed files. That reduces the number of base
    diskettes back to 5 1.44MB ones or 6 1.2MB ones.
  * base system: removed comerr2g, e2fslibsg and ss2g, provided by the
    new e2fsprogs package. Installed libstdc++2.8 instead of libg++272.
  * base system: removed obsolet /bin/perl -> /usr/bin/perl symlink.
  * Makefile: export architecture, so it can be used by documentation/Makefile
  * Added a README-tecra file (based on the old special/tecra/README).
  * basedisk.sh: Display a warning if we are installing partial packages.
  * debian/control: remove arch-dependent dependencies.
  * debian/rules: Set the proper permissions under debian/tmp.
    fixes: Bug#21155
  * root disk: removed comerr2g and e2fslibsg, provided by the new
    e2fsprogs package.
  * dinstall/baseconfig.c: Now reads de-latin1-nodeadkeys keymap. Fix
    by Nils Rennebarth.
  * dinstall/bootconfig.c: Install MBR only when asked to do so.
    fixes: Bug#19096
  * dinstall/main_menu.c: cosmetic fixes.
  * dinstall/partition_config.c: cosmetic fixes.
  * dinstall/select_not_mounted.c: Display the proper partition type in
    the "No %s partitions ... were detected" message.

    group.

dwww 1.4.1-1 -> 1.4.2-1 into bo/binary-i386/doc
dwww (1.4.2-1) stable; urgency=high
  * Another CGI security bug that allowed execution of arbitrary
    commands. I am now specifying a set of acceptable characters, rather
    than excluding certain ones and using perl -T. Fixes bug #18107
    (Thanks to Martin Bialasinksi)
  * I know there are lots of other non-security bugs outstanding. They will
    be fixed in an upcoming, more substantial release.
  * Compiled for libc5 for bo-updates.

egcc 2.90.27-0.7 -> 2.90.28-0.1 into dists/hamm/main/binary-i386/devel
egcc 2.90.27-0.7 -> 2.90.28-0.1 into dists/slink/main/binary-i386/devel

g77 2.90.27-0.7 -> 2.90.28-0.1 into dists/slink/main/binary-i386/devel

gobjc 2.90.27-0.7 -> 2.90.28-0.1 into dists/slink/main/binary-i386/devel
libstdc++2.8-dev 2.90.27-0.7 -> 2.90.28-0.1 into dists/hamm/main/binary-i386/devel
libstdc++2.8-dev 2.90.27-0.7 -> 2.90.28-0.1 into dists/slink/main/binary-i386/devel
libstdc++2.8 2.90.27-0.7 -> 2.90.28-0.1 into dists/hamm/main/binary-i386/libs
libstdc++2.8 2.90.27-0.7 -> 2.90.28-0.1 into dists/slink/main/binary-i386/libs
egcs (1.0.3-0.1) frozen unstable; urgency=low (high for maintainers that use objc)
  * bug fixes only in new upstream version
  * Applied patches from egcs CVS archive (egcs_1_03_prerelease)
    (see gcc/ChangeLog in the egcs source package).
  * libstdc++2.8-dev no longer Provides: libg++-dev (fixes #21153).
  * libstdc++2.8-dev now Conflicts: libg++27-dev (bo),
    libg++272-dev (hamm) [regular packages] rather than
    Conflicts: libg++-dev [virtual package] to prepare the way for "libg++"
    to be used as a virtual package for a new libg++ package (i.e. an up to
    date one, which not longer contains libstdc++, but only the GNU
    extensions) that is compatible with the egcs g++ packages. Such a package
    isn't available yet. Joel Klecker tried building libg++2.8.1.1a within
    egcs's libstdc++ setup, but it appears to need true gcc 2.8.1 .
  * Filed Severity: important bugs against wxxt1-dev (#21707) because these
    still depend on libg++-dev, which is removed in this version.
    A fixed libsidplay1-dev has already been uploaded.
  * libstdc++2.8 is now Section: base and Priority: required (as dselect is
    linked against it).
  * Disabled Haifa scheduling on Alpha again; Chris Chimelis reported
    that this caused problems on some machines.
  * [gcc/extend.texi]
    ftp://maya.idiap.ch/pub/tmb/usenix88-lexic.ps.Z is no longer available;
    use http://master.debian.org/~karlheg/Usenix88-lexic.pdf .
    (fixes the egcs part of #20002).
  * Updated Standards-Version.
  * Changed chmod in debian/rules at Johnie Ingram's request.
  * Rather than hardwire the Debian part of the packages' version number,
    extract it from debian/changelog .
  * Use gcc/objc/thr-posix.c from 980418 egcs snapshot to make objc work.
    (Fixes #21192).
  * Applied workaround for the GNUstep packages on sparc systems.
    See README.sparc (on sparc packages only) in the doc directory.
    This affects the other compilers as well.
  * Already done in 1.0.2-0.7: the gobjc package now provides a virtual
    package objc-compiler.

groff - GNU troff text-formatting system.
groff 1.10-3 -> 1.10-3.5 into bo/binary-i386/text
groff (1.10-3.5) stable; urgency=high
  * Compiled under debian-1.3.1 (libc5) as a security bugfix; used
     version number 3.5 (instead of 5) to avoid downgrading for hamm.
  * Avoided execution of arbitrary code embedded in documents;
     added warning WARN_SECURITY, enabled by default, to warn about .sy
     directives, but not yet documented in manpage. Warning mode enabled
     by default via ifdef, should be toggled by option flag. (need
     coordination with upstream maintainer.)
  * Applied patch from Brian Mays <bem5r@virginia.edu> to pic/tex.cc to
     cast a long double value to double (fixes #13788)

  * New upstream release with lots of bug fixes, including the MIDI
    generation bug in 0.1.48. Please put this in Hamm.
  * debian/rules:
     - Upgraded to standards version 2.4.1.0 (no changes).
     - lilypond now also depends on tetex-base (>= 0.9-5)
       and conflicts with tetex-base (<< 0.9).
  * Modified postinst and postrm to work with teTeX 0.9 / Web2C 7.2:
     - Removed all the *ugly* kludges and functions that were supposed to
       deal with non-Debian teTeX installations. Those kludges were
       specifically made for teTeX 0.4, but they failed to work as intended
       due to the changes in teTeX 0.9.
     - No longer messes with special.map because the standard
       Web2C 7.2 special.map already lists the feta fonts.
     - Since postinst is so much simpler, it is now a sh script! :-)
  * Removed preinst which contained yet another obsolete kludge to clean
    obsolete/ancient lilypond fonts.
  * Updated the GNU LilyPond Home Page URIs.

  * Added a patch for Maildir support. The "new" procmail should be
    completely backwards compatible with the "previous" one, in the

    Maildir folders.

  * Upgraded to latest upstream stable source.
  * Upgraded package building architecture.
  * Upgraded to Debian Standards-Version 2.4.1.0.
  * Upgraded documentation with real man pages that work well with
    man2html. I did remove info page stub.
  * Changed names of most of daemons, utilities, and cgi programs by
    prefixing with "wn". This solves the problem of the wn daemon having
    to short a name as identified by lintian. Also prevents possible name
    collisions and makes for cleaner structuring.
  * Changed name of update-www to wnupdatewww to be consistent with above
    and to get around problem with man2html which doesn't handle "-" in
    the names of man pages.
  * Changed to place package both in unstable and frozen distribution.
  * Changed all shell scripts to be compatible with ash and ksh.
  * Corrected bug of having utilites in the cgi-bin directory.
  * Removed digest authentication code since it used RSAREF code which
    could cause patent infringment problems.
