jade - jade - James' DSSSL Engine
jade 0.8-2 -> 0.8-4 into hamm/hamm/binary-i386/text
jade (0.8-4) unstable; urgency=low
  * debian/postinst, debian/postrm: add _FIX to the $SIG line, and install
    the *dsssl* catalog entries, not the davenport ones (oops,
    overenthusiastic cut and paste...) Make postrm more verbose, let
    postinst treat configure like upgrade. grep $CAT, not stdin.
  * turn off SP_HAVE_GETTEXT until I do a libc6 release.

kernel-package - Debian Linux kernel package build scripts.
kernel-package 3.35 -> 3.36 into hamm/hamm/binary-all/misc
kernel-package (3.36) unstable; urgency=low
  * All kernel packages produced now list the version of kernel-package
    used in the file /usr/doc/Buildinfo. This is a bit of a Hack.
  * The image prerm will allow you to remove an running kernel image and
    hose your system. You will be warned. (under protest).
  * Added a variable to choose a no symlink option, which puts the real
    images in /vmlinuz and /vmlinuz.old, not symlinks (similarily for
    System.map). This makes it potentially less useful, since unless other
    action is taken one would have only two images on the machine at the
    time. This has been added for people who use file systems that do not
    implement symlinks.
  * Added a variable to ask for reverse symlinks, that is, vmlinuz is the
    real file, vmlinuz-2.0.30 is the link. This also restricts the system
    to two image files unless the user save a copy, added for people with
    boot on umsdos (can't see symlinks in dos mode) but who want the links
    to see what the image versions are in Linux. Mutualy exclusive with
    the no symlink option. (apart from the symlinks, it is identical to
    the no symlink option). These should fix Bug#11395.
  * Fixed typo in control file for kernel-doc description. This fixes
    Bug#11568.

kernel-package - Debian Linux kernel package build scripts.
kernel-package 3.36 -> 3.37 into hamm/hamm/binary-all/misc
kernel-package (3.37) unstable; urgency=low
  * No longer create a System.map symlink in /, since that may confuse
    klogd when choosing kernel images using LILO. Since top, ps, and klogd
    look at /boot/System.map-<version>, we just need to make sure that
    file is present. This makes us friendlier to multiple images of the
    same kernel version.
  * No longer redirect output to a file in /tmp for security reasons (we
    use a log file in /var/log instead). This fixes BUG#11765,
    BUG#11766 and BUG#11847
  * Added support for different flavours of the same kernel version for
    people who need them. This is based on the ideas and work of Bill
    Mitchell <mitchell@mozcom.com> and Noel Maddy <ncm@biostat.hfh.edu>.
    This should make us fully compliant to having multiple flavours of the
    same kernel version.
  * Added dependencies to targets in rules. Now things should work as
    expected if one edits a .config file.
  * Fixed destination for the Buildinfo file. This fixes BUG#11884.

svgalibg1 1.2.11-1 into hamm/hamm/binary-i386/libs
svgalib (1:1.2.11-1) unstable; urgency=low
  * This is a more or less non-maintainer release to finally bring out a
    libc6 version of svgalib, which is urgently needed for the libc6
    migration of all packages depending on it. This release has been mode
    together by Joost Witteveen <joost@rulcmc.leidenuniv.nl> and Roman
    Hodek <Roman.Hodek@informatik.uni-erlangen.de>. But we both don't want
    to be maintainers for svgalib, if you want it, it's available.
  * New upstream release (made some of Joost's libc6 changes unnecessary)
  * removed aout stuff.
  * changed names of packages:
     svgalib1     ->  svgalibg1       (libc6)
     svgalib1-dev ->  svgalibg1-dev   (libc6)
     svgalib1-dev ->  svgalib1-altdev (libc5)
     svgalib1-bin -> svgalib-bin (there's no reason to put soname in
                                       a package that uses svgalib1g, I'd say).
     aout-svgalib ->  -               (obvious)
  * Changed most of the Depends/Conflicts/Replaces:
    -the shared libs now don't conflict/replaces old versions any more
     (different package names, should be possible to install
     simultaniously)
    -the -dev and -bin packages don't Replaces: svgalib any more
     (why was this ever done? seems strange to me).
    -svgalib1 (libc5 shared libs) must depend on svgalibg1, because there
     are the config files...
  * changed the directory of the documentation to svgalib, as the docs
    are common to all programmes, and svgalib seems the only common
    denominator.
  * removed $(MAKE) -f debian/rules buildclean from the "binary" target.
    (why was this ever put there?)
  * rewrote about every line of debian/rules for easy soname/minor name
    changes (now uses variable $(soname), etc).
  * allow libsvga to compile if libsvga-dev isn't installed on the
    system (why wasn't this possible before?)
  * removed call of ldconfig in Makefile that was executed in
    the debian/rules binary target: I don't want my system to be
    reconfigured when building packages.
  * also removed uninstall dependency of install target, it can affect the
    installation of the compiling system...
  * Changed #ifdef USEGLIC in upstream sources to #if __GLIBC__ >= 2,
    cause __GLIBC__ is predefined. Patch forwarded upstreams.
  * Added $(SHLIBLIBS) when linking the shared libs; the value ("-lc") is
    defined only from debian/rules. This adds a dependency to libc that is
    needed by ld-linux.so.
  * Removing of obsolete symlinks in /etc from preinst now works.

vm (6.33-1) unstable; urgency=low
  * Chaned post installation script not to redirect input to a scratch
    file in /tmp (we use /tmp/emacs/file.new.$$ instead. This fixes
    BUG#11787.
  * New upstream bug fixing release. Excerpted changes:
    * vm-undisplay-buffer: don't delete frames unless both
      vm-mutable-windows and pop-up-frames are not non-nil.  Loop
      over the remaining windows that display the target buffer and
      make those windows display some other buffer.
    * vm-mime-set-extent-glyph-for-type: use a list of instantiators,
      use 'xpm instead of 'autodetect and fallback to [nothing] if
      instantiation fails.
    * vm-display-face: use the [nothing] instantiator on ttys. XEmcas
      only.
    * vm-toolbar-install-toolbar: change toolbar size specifier on
      frame even if VM did not create the frame. This reverses the

    * vm-isearch: call vm-energize-urls to light up the URLs after a
      search completes.
    * vm-set-window-configuration: return the window configuration we
      set. A change in 6.32 caused this not to be done. This confused
      vm-display which relied on the return value to determine whether
      vm-display-buffer needed to be called.
    * don't recognize <URL:...> as an URL if it contains a newline.
    * vm-scroll-backwrd: make argument optional.
