all right, thanks

debian-cd:

hi there,

hereby i try to act as advices by user paks, imho i think it would be a good idea to have a symlink to the current stable universal (x86 32 and 64 bit arch) on any debian-cd mirror. I think it could be used to have much less work ((/)much more automation) on many places. For example if in use of the debian website it wouldnt come to problems like this. Or if you want to create a auto debian netinst download and burn script you could just use the that link instead of having to do a much more complicated procedure to find out where to find the latest stable version.

For example that could be:

http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current/multi-arch/iso-cd/debian-current-stable-amd64-i386-netinst.iso

which would link (so that you can also see the link target (if you want and do it manually (normally any download client would follow the link)) if you are using ftp instead of http (or even just with http do to 30x responds)) to:

http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current/multi-arch/iso-cd/debian-8.8.0-amd64-i386-netinst.iso

for now but if debian 8.9 or so, or even debian 9.x is released this link will still work as suspected.

So please think about implementing such an improvement, and of cause, do it!!

thanks a lot

i guess this is the right address

Correct.

your link on debian.org to the netinstall image on the top right corner of
the site still dead. Could you please fix that.

Done.

create a current symlink on the ftp server that links to the right image
every time so none has to update the website design every time.

Please mention this idea on the debian-cd list:
