Non-existent files in Release

Hi all,

Before jessie there were the following files on installation dvd iso image:

    contrib/binary-*/Packages
    contrib/binary-*/Packages.gz
    contrib/binary-*/Release
    main/binary-*/Packages
    main/binary-*/Packages.gz
    main/binary-*/Release
    main/debian-installer/binary-*/Packages
    main/debian-installer/binary-*/Packages.gz
    main/debian-installer/binary-*/Release

Starting with jessie the following files do not exist:

    contrib/binary-*/Packages
    main/binary-*/Packages
    main/debian-installer/binary-*/Packages

In which part of changelog or release notes is it mentioned?

The main problem is that for some strange reason those non-existent
Packages files are present in Release file for jessie and (now
testing) stretch.

In Release file hashsum and size values for these non-existent
Packages files are equivalent to corresponding unarchived Packages.gz
files.

What for are these records in Release file for non-existent Packages
files and how do they get there? I tried with "apt-ftparchive release
dists/testing/" and it does not produce records for non-existent
Packages files. Can it have any negative consequences leaving them
there by default?

Best wishes,
Igor
