Bug#671509: cdrom: CD unreadable on one model of drive

Package: cdrom
Severity: important
Tags: d-i

Attempting to install Wheezy dated 24th April on an HP Pavilion failed.
Installation starts, but fails at

[!!] Load installer components from CD
Installation step failed

without more detailed info. This also affects Lenny, I've not tried Squeeze or
other versions. Windows and other distreaux are OK, running md5sum over all
files on the CD (in the same computer, using the same drive) shows no problems.
The drive that exhibits the problem is marked

H-L Data Storage (Hitachi-LG Data Storage,Inc.)

Swapping to a Sony drive of similar functionality allows installation to run
as expected.
