I used Debian GNU/Linux 5.0.2 "Lenny" - Official i386 xfce+lxde-CD Binary-1

I have tested on a different machine (amd athlon 600 MHz) and still got no 686 kernel offered (only 486).

I filled a new bug, in favour of a better subject line. Please, merge Bug#537135, thanks.
