Package: cdrom
Version: 3.0 r0
Report:
I have 3.0 r0 "Woody" - the comlete 7 CD set, because I wanted to switch
from RedHat 9.0 to Debian.
I wanted to install a kernel 2.4.* system.
The symptoms are (when using the LG CD drive):
When I boot from CD1 :-
if I choose bf24, the script hangs after USB detection, and I just get
a grey screen on which I can type.
if I choose the default, the installation progresses fine, but I don't
get an option to install from the CD's, only from network, floppy,
disk....
When I boot from CD5 :-
it is not detected as a bootable CD ?
The full machine spec is included below - and I am running RedHat 9.0
on it now - so I know Linux does work (very well) with all the hardware,
with a 2.4 kernel.
Until I can install Debian without problems, I'll be a RedHat user.
Thanks,
John.
