Bug#336353: marked as done (installation problem)

Machine: Custom machine
Processor: amd athlon64 3200+ (2000MHz)
Memory: 1GB (2*512MB DDR400 OCZ 'Platinum')
Root Device: WesternDigital Raptor 74GB S-ATA (as scsi-device?)
Root Size/partition table: automatic partition scheme: about 71GB for /, 3GB 
for Swap (not that it makes sense, but i wanted to pass one install before 
experimenting)

Comments/Problems:

tried both expert and linux mode when booting into installation, result was 
the same:
when installing base system, i got the message
"debootstrap exited with error(return value 1)"
this happend while working on "base-files".
