Hi,
I sent previously the same in a message to this list
http://lists.debian.org/debian-cd/2002/debian-cd-200205/msg00410.html
with other subject but without any reply.
I don't know if this is the appropriate place for this report.
The problem seems to be small but interesting for widespread of Debian.
Also it is easy to solve (with a few soft-links).
Must i submit a bug? against which package? (maybe there
is a bug report yet about this that i cannot find).
In any case, here is a copy [updated and edited] of the problem with
the softlinks in [CD]/doc/ and [CD]/install/doc/:
------------------
I am testing the pre-release versions of Debian 3.0 i386 CD-1
(pre9 download through jigdo OK). [now it is pre11 but the same applies]
There is a [CD]/install/doc/ directory with the install instructions
(in english) and some directories for other languages (ca, cs, da, es,
fr, it, pt), OK.
1. But i miss the "index.??.html" (?? for ca, cs, da, es,...) inside
those subdirectories (there is "index.en.html" instead, but not
the translation).
I don't know if this was on purpose, a mistake, a lack of
translations or just a transitory problem due to pre-release state.
2. Also it would be nice to have a link named "index.hml" inside those
directories pointing for their corresponding "index.??.html".
3. The same problems [1,2] occurs inside doc directories for disks
[CD]/dists/woody/main/disks-i386/current/doc/*
(by the way, are the previous docs the same as these ones?
maybe softlinks...).
4. Also i miss the symbolic links from [CD]/doc/install/ to the
directories in other languages at [CD]/install/doc as they
are for the english versions.
5. By the way, is it planned to have README.??.html (and links like
LEEME.es.html, LISEZMOI.fr.html, etc.) files for other languages
in the root directory?
--------------
As I said in my previous message, the CDs and jigdo are a great work.
Thank you very much.
Greetings,
Jose R.
P.S.: About the 20000 copies of CD-1 for the students in
computer science in our university they will be pre10 version
due to schedule. Any way, it will be good!!
