I am very encouraged to hear that you are using debian.

I would be very happy to hear from you about your successes and frustrations
and other expierences with freely available software.

In my honest opinion, A direct image copy to your disk or to a permanent memory
device is the way to go for everybody.  You, however, should be first in line.
