My self made image are also small:
fr@linux:~$ ls -lrt /home/ftp/images/powerpc/
insgesamt 1985524
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 593192960 Aug 3 17:17 potato-powerpc-1.raw
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 676982784 Aug 3 17:19 potato-powerpc-2.raw
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 565176320 Aug 3 17:21 potato-powerpc-3.raw

But we need 3 CDs in any case...

Jep. I have tested then on a iMac Rev A. Works fine, but...

My iMac has a Formac SCSI Card / iProRaid (only for Rev. A & B iMacs),
which has a NCR 53c875. With this Card the Kernel loops. Now i
have removed the Card and everything works fine.

This does not happend with bootfloppys Version 2.2.15 ! It
is an new Bug with 2.2.16, but only with iMacs Rev A & B with this
Card.

I think building this driver as a module would help.

I have tested many kernel-parameter but nothing helps:
 - ncr53c8xx=safe:y
 - sym53c875=0
 - ncr53c8xx=0
 - sym53c875=safe:y
 - ncr53c8xx=off
 - sym53c875=off

what helps?

Frank
