Re: updateing slink: where is a new apt ?

apt-get upgrade --fix-missing
did some work, but after one cycle with disks 1,2 and 4
it stopped and could not do anything additional.

so i started dselect, went into select and fixed everything
(e.g. removed timezone and kbd*, added console*,
removed perl 5.005 (knowing 5.005 is big trouble)).

then dselect -> install, which again did nothing.
so a manual "apt-get dist-upgrade --fix-missing",
and now apt does a lot of stuff. looks good.

someone cares to write a HINT file for updaters, so they
can use these tricks ? people will have a very hard without
such tips and tricks (unless they are goods or dpkg developers :-).

so, going to cineman, hope apt does it's work.

good night.
