Please help

Hi:

I am trying to make a pseudo image disk and whenever I try to get it I get
the following error message:

C:\DEREK'S>make-pseudo-image binary-i386-1.list
ftp://rsync.kernel.org::mirrors/debian-cd/
bash.exe: warning: could not find /tmp, please create!
       -2.02$

What does this mean, I have tried a few different servers and I have also
created a directory named tmp in my folder.

Any help you can give  me will be helpful, thanks a lot
