We not only boil our own images, we've even a selfmade script for doing
this (not the official debian-cd package).

The problems we encountered so far are:

    . apt(-cdrom) in base2_2.tgz isn't uptodate and unable
      to handle out CD volume set properly

    . apt(-cdrom) can't cope with source only CDs

... the installation seemed not to very robust (but this could be
a problem of my vmware environment.)
