Okay, i downloaded mini and will try it out tomorrow (and this is my first time trying out GNU/kFreeBSD). Thank you for the suggestions, and  I will report here the results.

I just tried the testing images today and they're broken (failing to
format ufs partitions).  So it's best to use stable for now, especially
if this is the first time you try GNU/kFreeBSD.  You can easily
dist-upgrade to testing later if you wish.
