Thank you, I'll try with mini next time! I downloaded from here: http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/7.3.0/kfreebsd-amd64/iso-dvd/ and the i386 version as well (neither work).

Exactly what URLs did you get the images from? (Because there are so
many images, I'm not sure which ones you tried).

You may also want to try these mini.iso's which are only ~16MB :
