I'm trying that now. It's working :)

Using an upstream kernel for the loadable microcode blobs. Had to
`kldload radeonkms` myself - that blanks the screen - so have to run
`startx` without looking.

10.0-BETA2 froze after a few seconds of starting Xorg (saw the desktop
for a few seconds, then screen blanked, no response to keyboard, but
the power button prompted a clean shutdown).

I'm now using 10.0-BETA3, both DVI outputs working and was able to
configure the monitors with xrandr. Reasonably fast video playback in
mplayer using -vo xv, possibly some tearing/flicker/jitter though.

The card is a Radeon HD 6870 (Barts XT). May try some more demanding
OpenGL stuff later.

Regards,
