Thanks, I hadn't considered trying an older gcc than what's in wheezy.
I'll give that a try next.

I've attached a tarball of all the patches I'm using at the moment
(including test.diff which was attached by a more descriptive name to
my previous mail), as well as a diff against the patches directory in
the package now in experimental. A full debdiff would be a bit large
since it would include a lot of upstream changes, which is why I didn't
just do that.

Some of the changes in this diff are just doing a 'quilt refresh' after
fuzz or offsets in applying the patches, but others represent actual
changes to the patch's behaviour to suit the new source.

Note that debugger.diff is specific to my organisation, but
cc_version.diff is needed for a successful build. It's listed as
"Anchor-specific" in the series file because I was lazy with 'quilt
add' and just added it after debugger.diff.
