Debian GNU/kFreeBSD under Qemu

Hi,

I'm running Debian GNU/kFreeBSD (debian-20051115-kfreebsd-i386-install.iso)
under Qemu.

The kernel version of GNU/kFreeBSD is: 5.4-1-486

The system boots fine but I'm not able to ping to my tun0 device on the host
OS (Linux).

Following is the error messages I get:

In dmesg:
ed0: Ethernet address: 52:54:00:12:34:56
ed0: if_start running deferred for Giant
ed0: type NE2000 (16 bit)

And when the init scripts try to bring the interface up, following is the
message I get:
ed0: device timeout

But then the ed0 interface is shown up and I can ping it. But I can't ping
my host OS's tun0 interface.

Note: I'm using Debian GNU/Hurd with the same setup and there networking
works absolutely fine.

Regards,

rrs
