Package: debian-installer Version: Debian 10.6 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, I needed to enter an IPv6-address in the installer. When entering fe80::1 as a gateway the installer stops with an error that the address isn't reachable. The address fe80::1 is indeed a valid address for a gateway. -- System Information: Debian Release: 10.6 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.19.0-12-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US:en (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled

No, this is a link-local address so you have to also specify the interface name, e.g. "fe80::1%eth0", Ben. -- Ben Hutchings Larkinson's Law: All laws are basically false.Attachment: signature.asc
