My apologies -- I became over-excited by the fact that this bug was
found by cucumber running on jenkins.debian.net (which is a first!).
I was effectively trying to give it credit.

For posterity (and because at some point that screenshot will probably
get deleted) it said:

=-=-=-=-
  /Base system installation error/

The debootstrap program exited with an error (return code 127)

Check /var/log/syslog or see virtual console 4 for details.
=-=-=-=-

(looking at syslog didn't actually shed a great deal of light though,
since it referenced a line number that didn't really indicate the cause
of the problem, or even the file where the error had occured, so rather
than quote all that, I just jumped straight to fixing the bug. That
being the case, the screenshot was really only there as evidence that
there was a problem, rather than being very useful for diagnosis)

Cheers, Phil.
