Comments/Problems:
Trying to install Debian Jessie using RC1 installer, using md RAID1 +
LUKS + LVM. Swap partition on a non-RAID encrypted partition.
RAID1 devices created and tested using both the installer busybox
shell and a separate rescue environment. They are always verified in
an installer busybox shell before starting partman ("Partition
disks").
Starting point before starting partman:
/dev/md0 1G <- meant for /boot
/dev/md1 110G <- crypt + lvm for /root, /usr, /usr/local, /opt
/dev/md2 150G <- crypt + lvm for /home, /var, /tmp
/dev/sdc5 8G <- crypt for swap
But when applying the LVM layout the installer stops at 81% of "Detecting
file systems...", and dmesg show partman has segfaulted:
[ 1058.507210] Adding 7811068k swap on /dev/mapper/sde5_crypt. Priority:-1 extents:1 across:7811068k FS
[ 1383.769684] parted_server[7322]: segfault at 8 ip 000000000040b4b1 sp 00007fffff6d9e40 error 4 in parted_server[400000+12000]
Here's the steps to trigger partman segfault:
1. Create ext2 partition on /dev/md0, set mountpoint /boot
2. Create crypt partitions on /dev/md1, /dev/md2, /dev/sdc5
3. Configure crypt partitions
- Using passphrase on /dev/md1 and /dev/md2
- Using random key on /dev/sdc5
4. Configure swap space on cryptdisk for /dev/sdc5
5. Create LVM space on cryptdisks for /dev/md1 and /dev/md2
6. Configure LVM, create two separate VGs (one on each cryptdisk)
7. Configure LVM, create LVs for each VG
8. Finish LVM
9. Disk detection triggered, stuck at 81% and segfault
Been trying for about ten times now and always get the above result.
Should i send dmesg, syslog and partman log as attachment or inline?
