partman on standard system

Hi all..


to put in context:
i'm using FAI - Fully automated install, this application let us install Debian over network whitout interaction, but in some cases i need to define the partitions, so i think to use the partman.


my question is how difficult colud be implement parted on starndard systems? (fai mount a root via nfs to get work)
i tried to build a deb packages but i saw that it have a lot of dependeces, i don't know if some dependency  could be ommited..
