Since version 1.71 of console-setup, there are udebs for kFreeBSD.  
Correspondingly, I am reassigning this bug to debian-installer.

The required udebs are these:

console-setup-udeb_1.72_all.udeb
console-setup-pc-ekbd_1.72_all.udeb

The following udeb must be installed in order to provide localized 
non-UTF8 environment (I don't know if this is useful for the installer; 
if not, then ignore this udeb):

console-setup-freebsd-charmaps-udeb_1.72_all.udeb

Currently kFreeBSD doesn't support UTF-8 well (and console-setup doesn't 
do anything about this).  When this support improves, the following udeb 
will be also useful:

console-setup-freebsd-fonts-udeb_1.72_all.udeb

This udeb will allow console-setup-udeb to configure a font supporting 
the chosen language.  Alternatively, something like fbterm can be used; 
in this case this udeb should be ignored.
