Package: Installer

I would like to install Squeeze on a Mac mini (Intel, mid-2010 model). As the normal i386 install does not recognize the Ethernet hardware, I'm using the special version from http://wiki.debian.org/MacMiniIntel. It starts out promisingly, but hangs at "Select and install software", with the indicator bar stuck at "1%". This will go on for hours. I can
only stop the endless wait by switching the power off.

I reported the problem on the user forum
 http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=61866

However, there have been no answers.

Installer ISO:
  debian-squeeze-i386-netinst-mac-mini.iso
SHA1:

The image you used it's rather old, seems dated August 2010 and it's not the current official installer.
I suggest you to use Debian 6.0.1 or the current daily images [1] and report any issues you find with it.
On daily images it is available kernel linux 2.6.37 and from the wiki seems you will need at least linux kernel version 2.6.35.
If you need to install firmware not available in Debian the installation guide [2] gives some guidance [3].
The firmware for your ethernet card seems to be tg3 [4].

I am closing this report as it was not used the official/current installer.
It would be great if you take the time to try the current installer and send another report based on a current image.
