Comments/Problems:

Detect CD:
I don't think this inataller image actually tried to detect the CD,
since everythin is on the ramdisk.

Detect hard drives:
Hard drive was not detected automatically. Selecting ps3disk (which is the
correct driver) didn't help, and no diagnostics was given. Switching
consoles didn't work either, so debugging was impossible. Alt-F?, Alt-Right
and Ctrl-Alt-Right do nothing. Ctrl-Alt-F? just restarts "Detect disks".
It also appears to emit some messages somewhere, since there was a black
block of approximately the size of a cursor at the left screen border in
"Detect disks". When pressing Ctrl-Alt-F? a copy of that cursor appeared
two line below the initial one, and a second later a seond copy appeared two
lines below the first, then another second later "Detect disks" restarted
and the cursor appeared in its initial position.

So I chose "Go Back" and started a shell from there. That gave me a message
(probably explaining how I could exit the shell, but all but the title
"Execute a shell" was unreadable because the text consisted entirely of
boxes (probably replacement character). Going ahead anyway, the shell
appeared (and had readable text). Exiting the shell dropped me back into
the installer menu, which now was had boxes instead of characters as well.
I was able to blindly start the shell a second time.

In that shell, dmesg showed that the kernel module ps3disk was loaded and
had detected the device ps3da correctly, although there was an "ps3da:
unknown partition table" message. The device /dev/ps3da existed as well.

At that point I gave up with this image.

I noticed the "garbled text" problem on a second boot in other situations as
well -- Ctrl-Alt-F? appears to restart the whole installer program in this
situaltion and the text is readable again.
