Package: busybox
Version: 1:1.14.2-2
Severity: normal
Presently there is unresolved breakage in mkfs for ext2 FS, due to some
churn in where libraries have been moved, and the absence of a test of mkfs
The fix may have been made and is working through the unstable timeout but
then again it may not be a full fix. Please provide mkfs wiithin busybox to
permit a workaround through the suggested path:

busybox includes very minimal e2fsprogs implementations,
which, I think, should not be enabled because real
implementations exists, because the real implementation
is under active development and is evolving, and because
the whole e2fsprogs is quite complex piece of software
which needs to deal with complex data structures on disk.
Besides, I don't think it's wise to require alternative
implementation instead of fixing whatever (still unconfirmed)
breakage the real implementation has.
So closing this bugreport.
Thanks!
