Situation:
Disks were already partitioned from previous lenny installation, but they were
selected for formatting to install squeeze from scratch.

Problem:
The installer failed on creating filesystem (tried ext3 and ext4).
Running mkfs.ext3 manually from console complained about missing /etc/mtab, so
mount status could not be determined.

Workaround:
"touch /etc/mtab" also makes the installer succeed creating the filesystem.

Tested RC2 (netinst, amd64) in an virtual machine: Partitioning,
formatting, rebooting, reformatting. /etc/mtab is also present and
populated.

Works fine, thanks.
