Today I tried to create a new chroot with sid or etch. I am working on a

I: Retrieving Release
I: Retrieving Packages

W: Failure trying to run: chroot /opt/chroot/unstable mount -t proc
proc /proc
eppesuig3:/opt/chroot#

Bye,
Giuseppe

Versions of packages debootstrap depends on:
ii binutils 2.16.1cvs20060117-1 The GNU assembler, linker
and bina
ii wget 1.10.2-1 retrieves files from the
web

debootstrap recommends no packages.

Two issues were raised in this bug.

1. debootstrap didn't fail early and died with a weird mount error
if a mirror didn't have an arch

This is no longer the case, for example:

	joey@box:/tmp>sudo debootstrap sid sid http://debian.corenetworks.net/debian/
	[sudo] password for joey:
	I: Retrieving Release
	I: Retrieving Packages
	I: Retrieving Packages
	I: Retrieving Packages
	E: Couldn't download dists/sid/main/binary-armel/Packages

That was fixed in version 1.0.10:

  * Abort if a Packages file failed to verify.

2. default mirror not suitable for all arches

The default mirror is now http.us.debian.org, and that mirror
(and generally ftp.cc.debian.org (with the exception of ftp.au)
   currently include all release architectures.

So, closing.
