You probably down't even need to rebuild the udeb in order to test this.

What you can do is testing in expert mode, to be sure to you'll do the
install step by step.

Then procees ormally with the regular images up to the partitioning
step.

Then, before entering the "Disc partitioning" step, switch to console
2, open a shell and edit the relevant file (there is an editor in D-I:
nano).

This is a very clever way to deliver pre-installed laptops, indeed, so
I would welcome a patch allowing such preseeding of the passphrase.
