Yes, it can happen then too, but only if you have the USB stick inserted
_before_ the first hardware detection stage. You can avoid it by
inserting it only when prompted and removing it when no longer needed.
Same goes for net-based installs BTW: just remove the USB stick after
loading the firmware and you'll be OK.
