Really excellent work on this!

AFAICT your patches should address the remaining issues I described after 
*removing* 'disable-module=keyboard' recently [1]. So the comment above 
is the only thing that confuses me a bit.

Would we have to add that line back in /etc/directfbrc? If so, then I 
think there is still some incorrect translation in one of the libraries 
as the logical thing would be for things to work correctly in the default 
configuration (i.e. with the keyboard module enabled).
