Comments/Problems:
I started with install. It asks me for my language,
country and keyboard layout then pauses while it tries to detect the CD-ROM.
Then I get "Your installation CD-ROM couldn't be mounted". install24
fails identically, except lspci is not available.
I tried the SATA ATAPI workaround, but no joy. I think
the PC is too old to have SATA anyway. The CD-ROM is a Liteon LDN486S.
I have an older Debian version, 3.0r0 Woody for i386,
which detects the CDROM just fine.
Cheers,
Alexis
