discover1 has had sbus support for quite a long time.

joey@kite:~/tmp/discover1-data-1.2005.09.25>grep esp sbus.list
sbus.lst: 00000000 scsi esp espdma:ESP SCSI
sbus.lst: 00000000 scsi esp SUNW,fas:FAS-336 ESP SCSI

You should provide the information to add support for your sbus device.

No, sarge's hw-detect is largely identical to the current one and does
not do that.

(They do load sr_mod once a scsi device is found.)
