On the miniCD install of Woody posted by Chris Lawrence
<lawrencc@debian.org> as per
http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2002/debian-devel-announce-200204/msg00008.html
there is a bug which appears if a user boots the CD from a machine that
contains multiple CDs. Specifically, if the user does NOT boot the
machine from the last CD-ROM device, the remount of /instmnt fails without
a warning message. The third VC does print that it couldn't mount
/dev/hdd as /instmnt, and the user must manually mount the correct device
to /instmnt from the second VC.
I realize that it is very late in the freeze process, but I think it's
important this be fixed, so people new to Linux does not find that he/she
is unable to install Debian if it's booted from a certain CD-ROM. In my
case, hdc is a high-speed (48X) CD, and hdd is a 6/4/2X CD-RW drive.
Obviously, I have a reason for trying to boot from hdc as opposed to hdd
(unless I want to sit through the installation with 2X speed source).

I'm closing all bug reports filed on the boot-floppies since this
codebase has reached its end of life. boot-floppies is only in Debian
oldstable now (and temporarily in unstable because of bug #224469).
The new installer for sarge and beyond is of course, the
debian-installer. It solves a great many issues present in the
boot-floppies.
If you believe that your boot-floppies bug is still present in
debian-installer somehow, then please reopen the bug report and reassign
it there, or perhaps better, file a new bug report.
