ii tasksel 1.18 Tool for selecting tasks for
installation on

After the previous testing (woody) distribution went stable, my
/etc/apt/sources.list still pointed to testing. Since I did not want to
switch over to sarge, I manually edited sources.list with
s/testing/stable. However, if I run an "apt-setup" to create
sources.list, the "testing" distro is used in that file.

Possible reason:
os:/home/marcus# debconf-show base-config
(...)
   apt-setup/distribution: testing
(...)
even after woody went stable.

What I did to fix it:
echo "set apt-setup/distribution stable" | debconf-communicate

Afterwards, apt-setup would point to the proper distro.

Shouldn't this go to the manual somewhere?

Regards,
Marcus.

   [ Joey Hess ]
   * Make apt-setup -N (and tzsetup -N) be explicitly meant for new installs.
   * Ask mirror/suite at high priority if it's not a new install, so that
after an install re-running apt-setup does not force whatever value was
used by the install onto the user, which is especially important if they
installed testing, which is now stable. Closes: #154482
   * Use dpkg --print-architecture instead of now-deprecated
     --print-installation-architecture
   * Fix tzsetup to not crash with a bad debconf question if the user skips
changing the timezeone. Still allow changing GMT settings in this case.
