okay, let me see if I recall correctly. During installation (after
disk partitioning and grub installation) the computer rebooted (that
would be after finishing first stage). it's very possible that the
changed keyboard layout emerged directly after the reboot, however, it
was first noticed in base-config while configuring the apt sources.
The sources were put on the hard disk and trying to set the path to
the sources pressing '/' caused '&' to appear.
