Can preseed with partman expert recipe run fully automated?

Hi,

I am trying to make a preseed script based on the preseed example in the
sarge installation guide.

It ran 100% automatic (no questions asked) until I try to use the expert
recipe from the example:
d-i partman-auto/expert_recipe         string boot-root :: 20 50 100 ext3 $primary{ } .... etc etc

now I have to press enter to select erase the entire hard drive.

Any way to avoid this??

debconf-get-selections tells me I have selected this:
partman-auto/init_automatically_partition       select  Erase entire disk: IDE1 master (hda) - 13.6 GB IBM-DJNA-371350

but I can't use this string in the preseed file, since it is like another
hard drive in the next machine...
