Package: debian-installer
Severity: normal

It does not seem to be possible to pre-seed the disk-partitioning info
to achieve a hands-free install. I am using the the latest (10/18) ISO images
from http://cdimage.debian.org/pub/cdimage-testing/daily/i386/current/.
I have tested both the netboot and businesscard images. My preseed file
is available from http://people.debian.org/~pxt/deb_preseed
The relevant parts of that file are as follows:

   d-i partman-auto/disk string /dev/sda
d-i partman-auto/choose_recipe select All files in one partition (recommended for new users)
d-i partman/choose_partition select Finish partitioning and write changes to disk
   d-i partman/confirm boolean true

This appears to be consistant with the examples given in all the
documentation I can find, as well as the examples linked on the wiki.

My boot command line is:
 linux preseed/url=http://<myurl> debconf/priority=critical
   languagechooser/language-name=English countrychooser/shortlist=US
   console-keymaps-at/keymap=us

In each case the installer prompts me to choose how to partition the
disk. The screenshot can be seen here:
http://people.debian.org/~pxt/preseed.png

Once I select the first choice, the installation continues unattended.
I know my preseed file is being read as other choices (such as my local
mirror) are being honored.

The documentation, wiki, and discussions on debian-boot indicate that
preseeding this information should be possible -- if my syntax is wrong,
then please consider this a bug report for the documentation, otherwise
it appears to be a bug in the installer.

Thanks,

 Paul.
