Comments/Problems:

This installation took me only 2h15m including package downloads, and
everything was fully working at the end of that (except Intel IPW2100 wifi
card, but I installed an experimental driver "ipw2100.sf.net" for that, and it
appears to work). A previous install 6 months ago on the same
machine had taken me several weeks to get all the components to work (sound,
X, network, keyboard, etc).  So much improvement in only 6 months! Hardware
detection/configuration is near perfect now. Thank you.
