Comments/Problems:

The installer detected eth0 as the motherboard ethernet card and eth1 as the airwire card. I was able to connect to the internet through the airwire card, but the installer didn't write out an /etc/network/interfaces block for eth1.

After the installer was finished and rebooted the machine, it didn't boot to a linux boot loader- it booted directly to OSX. I was able to boot linux by holding down the "option" key during the boot and selecting the linux partition from the menu, and finished installing the boot loader by running "ybin".

The other thing I noticed is that there is no "sbp2" module in the kernel, which means I am not able to access my external firewire disks from linux... however the "dmesg" messages show something having to do with "connecting to sbp2 device" with the GUID of the disk, which makes me guess that the sbp2 module is compiled into the kernel itself. is there some secret to accessing this disk? i've tried adding the various ieee1394 modules which ARE available, without any success.
