The new installer does use vesafb, apparently it does not work.

That is properly documented in all but CDROM boots, and I fixed the
CDROM boot help yesterday.

We could add the sisfb module to our installer, and add a boot parameter
to make it be used instead of vesafb. However, the only benefit to doing
so over turning off frame buffer is support for unicode characters.
