Are you running "debuild" or "dpkg-buildpackage"?
If your dpkg-gencontrol does not complain about the wrong arch there
is something seriously wrong.
I wrote this bug mainly so I get a reminder when mips gets added,
released and the bugs gets closed. Otherwise I would forget to read
the mips buildd log. As I said: FTBFS mips (in a good way)
