It does seem that a pseudo-package for the debian-installer would be
useful; however, I don't see why the existing 'install' etc.
pseudo-packages aren't good enough, if people will stop assuming that
bugs filed there relate exclusively to boot-floppies.

It seems that there is already plenty of provision in the bug tracking
system providing that a little common sense is used. For reference:

install Installation system
installation Installation system
cdrom Installation system
installation-reports Reports of installation problems with stable & testing
upgrade-reports Reports of upgrade problems for stable & testing

The first two go to debian-boot; the third to debian-cd; the last two to
debian-testing.

Would your request be satisfied if any bugs against install/installation
regarding boot-floppies were reassigned to the package of that name, and
the boot-floppies developers agree not to brush off bugs filed there
with "won't happen in boot-floppies" (and to reassign bugs to
install/installation as appropriate)?
