Installing Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 For Intel x86 - Chapter 6 - Partitioning for Debian

"Based on limitations in how ext2 works, avoid any single partition greater than 6GB or so. "
http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/i386/ch-partitioning.en.html

I'm really confused about this. I've been running a 37GB ext2 partition without any problems, but I want to be safe when I'm doing this. When I asked around, i couldn't find anyone else who knew about this limitation.

I hope you can help clarify this..
Cheers,
Sy
