Package: Debian 1.5, kernel, base, etc, text tools, miscellaneous,
manuals
Version: 1.5

Hi I am having problems completing the installation of 1.5 on my alpha
udb. I get to the time zone setting part but cannot select anything
apart from UTC. If I continue on beyond this section to the root
password section, the install script fails to set the root password, it
looks like it cannot access the passwd file. It complains that not all
the necessary packages are installed???? But they are kernel, base, etc,
text tools, miscellaneous, manuals. It then fails the sanity check and
does not appear to finish writing the setup files. Any ideas what is
wrong?

regards

Bug reported using unknown and obsolete version of Debian. Closing.

Darren, please do feel free to report any problems with the Alpha boot
floppies, although be advised that we are only actively working on the
unstable version, 3.0.7 or better.
