  well...  the package is being used during the installation process with
no possibility to manually choose an x server.  therefore i _do_ find it
important that it works with any hardware.  of course, this may also be
attributed to the installation program.

  the output line xviddetect?  here it is:

10110004|alpha|Digital Equipment Corporation|DECchip 21030 [TGA]

  the x server is XF86_TGA.
